Podtrac Releases Podcast Data Through March 13

Podtrac has released its weekly tracking data of podcasts for the week of March 7-13 showing downloads declined 2% over the previous week and up 59% over the corresponding period last year for Podtrac measured shows. The True Crime category showed the strongest week-over-week growth at 8%. Arts showed the weakest week-over-week growth falling 17%. The category with strongest growth year-over-year was Sports at 122%.

Download growth for the 52-week period from March 8, 2021 to March 13, 2022 was up 59% across all Podtrac measured podcasts. Week-over-week download growth for the week of March 7-13 was down 2% across all Podtrac measured podcasts.

Download growth for the 52-week period from March 8, 2021 to March 13, 2022 was +46% for Arts, +51% for Business, +61% for Comedy, +8% for History, +58% for News, +54% for Religion & Spirituality, +38% for Science, +50% for Society & Culture, +122% for Sports, and +45% for True Crime.

Week-over-week download growth for the week of March 7-13 was -17% for Arts, -3% for Business, +2% for Comedy, -2% for History, -2% for News, -3% for Religion & Spirituality, -9% for Science, -1% for Society & Culture, -2% for Sports, and +8% for True Crime.
