Triton Digital has released its August, 2022 reporting period (August 1-28), U.S. Podcast Report. For the period, Stitcher Media remained in the #1 spot on the Top Sales Networks Report for the month of August with 60.4 million Average Weekly Downloads and 15.3 million Average Weekly Users. Audacy Podcast Network came in at #2 with 33.5 million AWD and 8.8 million AWU, followed by NPR at #3 with 31.7 million AWD and 6.6 million AWU.

The top three podcasts based on downloads included "Crime Junkie" (audiochuck) at #1, "NPR News Now" (NPR) at #2 and "The Ben Shapiro Show" (Cumulus Podcast Network) at #3.

For listeners, the top 3 podcasts in August included "Crime Junkie" (audiochuck) at #1, "Up First" (NPR) at #2 and "Morbid" (Wondery) at #3.

New shows debuting during this period for listeners included "The Sunshine Place" (Audacy Podcast Network), "Fed Up" (Wondery) and "The Bulwark Podcast" (Cumulus Podcast Network) and for downloads "The Bulwark Podcast" (Cumulus Podcast Network).

For the month of August, there were 235.2 million average weekly downloads for the top 20 publishers.
