Twelve Reps, One Senator Added as Co-Sponsors of LRFA

Twelve members of the House of Representatives and one senator have added their support to a resolution opposing "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA), which signals the opposition of members of Congress to any potential legislation that imposes new performance royalties on broadcast radio stations for music airplay, now has 167 co-sponsors in the House and 21 in the Senate.

Reps. Steve Womack (R-AR-3) and Kathy Castor (D-FL-14) are the lead co-sponsors of the LRFA in the House. Representatives adding their support recently for the resolution in the House are Reps. Robert Aderholt (R-AL-4), Josh Brecheen (R-OK-2), Dan Crenshaw (R-TX-2), Brett Guthrie (R-KY-2), David Kustoff (R-TN-8), Greg Landsman (D-OH-1), Barry Loudermilk (R-GA-11), Morgan Luttrell (R-TX-8), Gregory Meeks (D-NY-5), Mary Miller (R-IL-15), Mike Turner (R-OH-10) and Roger Williams (R-TX-25).

Sens. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and John Barrasso (R-WY) are the lead co-sponsors of the LRFA in the Senate. Adding his support for the resolution in the Senate is Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK).
