Squier Family Sells Radio Vermont Group to Local Owners
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, January 11, 2024 |
Several weeks after the death of Vermont Hall of Fame broadcaster Ken Squier, the Squier family has agreed to sell Variety WDEV-AM & FM in Waterbury, VT along with the remainder of the Radio Vermont Group, including sister stations Country WLVB-FM and Classic Hits WCVT-FM. The buyers are Scott Milne and Myers Mermel. Both have run for the U.S. Senate in Vermont and Milne for governor and lieutenant governor as well.
Milne told NBC5 that they believe in community radio -- with news, talk and sports -- and want to honor what Ken Squier built during his time as owner.
Terms were not disclosed. The deal also requires FCC approval.
