Iliad Media Group Holdings Inc. has acquired The Montana Radio Company, integrating its nine stations in Helena, MT into Iliad's employee-owned network. The move expands Iliad's presence in the industry and strengthens its commitment to employee empowerment through its 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

The acquisition brings Iliad Media Group's total portfolio to 23 stations, combining its 14 existing Idaho stations with The Montana Radio Company's nine. The transaction ensures job security and career longevity for employees, reinforcing Iliad's philosophy that workers are not just employees but owners of their workplace.

"We are excited to welcome The Montana Radio Company into the Iliad family," said Darrell Calton, President and CEO of Iliad Media Group. "Our shared values of employee ownership and community-focused broadcasting make this merging of radio cultures so promising."

Kevin Terry, CEO of The Montana Radio Company, echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the benefits for employees. "Joining forces with Iliad Media Group aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering a workplace where employees have a stake in the company's success. This move ensures that our team in Montana will enjoy not only job security but also pride in ownership."

As part of the transition, Montana Radio Company employees will become part of Iliad's ESOP, a model that has already been successful in Boise and Twin Falls, Idaho. Despite the change in ownership, The Montana Radio Company will maintain its current management structure and branding while keeping local ownership through its employees.
