LBI Media, Inc., announced today that La Que Buena 105.5/94.3 FM/Los Angeles will be making key additions to its afternoon and evening programming and talent lineup. Recognized as one of the leading Regional Mexican format stations in the United States, La Que Buena 105.5/94.3 FM adds Ricardo Rubio, also known as "El Pinche Rika" and Karen, La Colombiana, with "Bien Jalados" for afternoons (3pm - 7pm). The show will be an afternoon entertainment magazine format featuring the best of Regional Mexican music, as well as conversations and discussions on current events. The show will cover topics ranging from sex, relationships, and immigration to sports and entertainment.
Rubio is a 23-year broadcasting veteran who began his career at the age of 15 in his native Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He was a pioneer in launching one of the first Regional Mexican music television programs in the United States with "Regional Mexican Television," and has been a staple at the EstrellaTV Network as a writer for shows such as "El Show de Lagrimita y Costel," "Reto Famosos," and "En Exclusiva con Myrka Dellanos." Rubio was also part of the popular morning drive radio show "El Show de Don Cheto" on LBI Media's La Que Buena Radio 105.5/95.3 FM in Los Angeles. Currently, he co-hosts EstrellaTV's "El Mameluco" entertainment news magazine and also collaborates with "Ojetivamente," a popular video blog on Pepe's Office YouTube channel.
Colombiana is a recent Que Buena Radio discovery and is originally from Medellin, Colombia. She spearheaded her radio career in Guadalajara, Jalisco and made her U.S. radio debut on La Que Buena Radio's 7P-12A "Noches con La Colombiana." She later joined "Show del Parientito y El Marciano" 3P-7P, where she hosted two segments, "Amor a la Colombiana" and "Las Enchiladas Colombianas." She is also a regular guest co-host on EstrellaTV's "El Mameluco" entertainment news magazine.
Meanwhile, making her comeback to Que Buena Radio for nights (7pm- midnight) is Marlene Quinto with her new show "Al Chile." A 15-year radio and TV veteran, Quinto has an extensive history with La Que Buena Radio, where she has been a radio personality for a wide variety of shows, but is mostly known for her 10-year stint as the co-host for radio personality Don Cheto and his #1 hit morning radio drive show "Don Cheto Al Aire."
Quinto, who is known for her ability to engage listeners of all ages, has a dynamic approach to current events and hot topics. Not only has she maintained high ratings in her radio career, she has also interviewed some of today's hottest chart-topping artists. "Al Chile" will be an open conversation about many topics, and will include news, current events, and interviews with Latin celebrities. "Al Chile" is a straight-to-the-point, unfiltered and uncensored late evening format for Southern California's Latinx community.
