Country WKKO (K100)/Toledo morning host Cliff Smithers will exit after four years in the post and 32 years in the radio industry. Previously, he served as Program Director and morning personality for co-owned Classic Hits WRQN-FM beginning in August, 2016. He started his radio career at Cumulus Media in Toledo, where he was on-air for 21 years from 1989 through 2010, hosting shows on WTOD-AM, WRQN-FM and on WKKO-FM (K100). He's also worked on-air at WIOG-FM/Saginaw MI, WGRV-FM/Detroit and CBS Radio's WOMC-FM and WYCD-FM/Detroit.

Smithers told WTOL-TV that he's "not retiring," but just stepping away from radio. "I look forward to the next adventure in life with Toledo Door and Window."

In a Facebook post, Smithers wrote, "I never thought the day would come to decide to get out of radio. It has been an awesome run for the last 32 years and I've met some awesome people along the way... waaaay to many to mention. Friendships that will never be broken! I walked into K100 32 years ago with absolutely no radio experience, and Gary Shores took a chance on me and hired me. He has been one of my closest friends, boss, encourager and radio teacher (if you will) for all of those 32 years... even after he retired."
