KRVB (94.9 The River)/Boise, ID morning co-host Ken Bass exits after nearly 20 years at the Lotus Communications AAA outlet, due to company layoffs. He most recently hosted the show with Melissa Dawn, who remains on a solo basis. He originally joined the station in October, 2003. Bass has worked in mornings in Boise since 1985 with stints at KCIX, KXLT and KBOI.

In a social media post, Bass wrote, "I have been contemplating my retirement from radio for a bit now, even thinking that I might do so after my 71st birthday in March. Well, my decision was made for me today when the corporation owning 94.9 The River, where I have been the morning guy for nearly 20 years announced layoffs amongst all of their properties."

KRVB PD Tim Johnstone said, "Ken was a valuable part of The River team for nearly 20 years. We were happy to have him and he was a valuable part of the community. He will be greatly missed."
