KFI-AM/Los Angeles mid-afternoon co-host (1-4pm) Ken Chiampou of "John and Ken" has announced his retirement from the iHeartMedia Talk outlet on December 6. John Kobylt will continue to host the show on a solo basis. Chiampou and Kobylt have been teamed together for 35 years, or since 1988, when they joined WOND in Atlantic City, NJ. They also worked at WMGM in Atlantic City before launching WKXW (New Jersey 101.5) in Trenton, NJ in 1990.

The duo joined KFI as afternoon hosts in 1992. Except for a roughly two-year period at crosstown KABC, they have called KFI home for the past three decades.

"I am saying goodbye," said Chiampou on Monday. "After very little thought, this is what I'm gonna do."

"Ken is such a talent," said KFI programmer Robin Bertolucci. "He has the unique ability to add information, wind John up, cool him down, and keep the show on track. Their chemistry is true magic."
