Classical Music Indy welcomes John Nasukaluk Clare as the new host of its syndicated radio program, "Anytime Classical," previously hosted by Michael Toulouse. "Anytime Classical" continues to air locally on WICR in Indianapolis and WBAA in Lafayette. Currently the Artistic Director at Gretna Music in Mount Gretna, PA, Clare will begin hosting Classical Music Indy's "Anytime Classical" on Monday, August 12.

In addition to hosting Classical Music Indy's "Anytime Classical," Clare has created a new weekly radio program, "Classical Beat," airing on WICR at 8pm on Sundays, beginning September 1. Listeners will be introduced to arts programs "they will love" through Clare's interviews with artists, composers, and conductors performing around Indiana.

Classical Music Indy will partner with arts organizations such as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and the Indianapolis Opera, to name a few, to promote their programming. Classical Music Indy and WICR are providing the radio program as a service to the community.

"I can't wait to share my love of classical music with listeners while collaborating with artists and arts organizations throughout Indiana," said Clare. "Arts organizations have struggled to recover audiences post pandemic. Our goal is to pique the interest of our listeners and inspire them to attend the concerts they learn about on our weekly show."

John Nasukaluk Clare hosts weekday mornings on Sirius XM's Symphony Hall and has a long history with classical music and radio. Clare was the first Native American to lead an all-classical radio station and is comfortable behind a microphone, streaming video or playing violin. Previous adventures include stations in Missouri, Texas, Kansas, Nevada, California and Pennsylvania.

"John Clare will lead Classical Music Indy into a new era of high-caliber programming," said Classical Music Indy Executive Director Julia Holbrook. "We are honored to provide listeners in Indiana with a variety of ways to consume fee-free classical music, from our syndicated radio program, Anytime Classical, to our new weekly radio program, Classical Beat presented by The National Bank of Indianapolis, both hosted by John. He will also oversee Classical Music Indy's streaming channels, which will relaunch in the coming weeks."
