Steve Casanova Retires from KONO-FM in San Antonio

KONO-FM/San Antonio APD and air personality Steve Casanova is retiring from the Cox Media Group Classic Hits outlet. The long-time broadcaster, who has been a fixture at KONO-FM since 2000, has previously aired in nights and middays and served as Assistant Program Director. His responsibilities extended to other stations such as Classic Country KKYX-AM and the now-defunct KONO (Oldies 860).

A San Antonio native, Casanova's broadcasting career began at KDNT in Denton, TX. His career in San Antonio included stints at KBUC (Country 107.5), AC KESI, R&B Oldies KAPE-AM and KONO (Oldies 860). In 1992, he joined Country KCYY (Y100), where he was known as Johnny Montego, holding positions in nights and middays for eight years.

Casanova expressed gratitude towards his colleagues in a heartfelt statement, thanking individuals including Rob Roberts, Roger Allen, RJ Curtis, Scott Huskey, Lee Woods, Gene Kelly, as well as the numerous general managers, programmers, other air talents, and support staff he has worked with. He reflected on his 42 years in radio, celebrating the unforgettable memories and successes he experienced throughout his career.
