News/Talk WBAP in Dallas has seen two prominent departures from its morning news program as part of broader cuts by Cumulus Media. Sports Director Steve Lamb (pictured) and anchor Nicole Osei are no longer with the station, marking the end of long-running tenures for both.
Lamb had been with WBAP since 1986, building a reputation as a trusted sports voice in North Texas. Before joining WBAP, Lamb worked at stations in Oklahoma City and Ponca City, OK. His contributions to Texas radio were recognized with his induction into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2019.
Osei began her association with WBAP as an intern in 2002. After stints in local television in Lawton, OK and as a member of the Texas State Network News for CBS Radio, Osei returned to WBAP in 2016. She became a morning news anchor in 2017. Osei also served as an anchor at crosstown News/Talk KRLD.
Despite the changes, WBAP's morning lineup continues with Ernie Brown, Hal Jay, Carla Marion, Brad Barton, and Monty Cook. The program airs weekdays from 5-9am.
