Steve Scarpetti, the longtime co-host on WHJY/Providence's "Doug & Scarpetti" afternoon show, has announced that he will be leaving his full-time role at the station. Scarpetti, who has also served as the Promotions Director, will conclude his daily duties this Friday.

In a recent Facebook post, Scarpetti expressed his mixed emotions about the departure, stating, "After a 25-year run, I've decided to step away from my full-time duties on-air at HJY as part of the Doug and Scarpetti Show and as Promotions Director. An amazing opportunity came up and I'd be crazy not to take it. It's been a hell of a run. I got to live my radio dream, from meeting my heroes to enjoying concerts, station trips, and working with some of the best talent in radio. It's a part of my life that I will always cherish."

However, fans will still occasionally hear Scarpetti on WHJY, as he assured his followers that he is not leaving the station entirely. "The great news. You're not getting rid of me entirely. I'll be staying on in a part-time role with fill-in shifts and continuing to host The Metal Zone," he added.
