WGN-AM in Chicago inks a multi-year extension with veteran morning host Bob Sirott. Sirott, who airs from 6-10am on weekdays, will continue to engage listeners with his distinctive blend of local stories and conversations covering health, tech, business, travel, entertainment, lifestyle and Chicago's culinary highlights, including the city's best Chicago-style hot dogs.

Sirott, who has been at the helm of the morning drive since 2020, expressed his enthusiasm about the ongoing support from WGN Radio's management, noting the autonomy and resources provided to him. "Management has given me a terrific on-air and behind-the-scenes team, plus freedom to do whatever I want," Sirott remarked humorously, "That's why waking up at 4:30 am is fun now. Actually...that last line is a lie."

WGN-AM Vice President and General Manager Mary Sandberg Boyle, praised Sirott's contributions to the station, emphasizing his legendary work ethic, focus, and character that resonate deeply within the broadcast industry. "He's an excellent communicator and continues to strategically engage and connect with the WGN Radio audience daily. Bob is one of the best in the business and we're proud to have him as part of the WGN Radio team," said Boyle.

Sirott's career spans over five decades, earning him a reputation as a trusted voice among generations of Midwesterners. A native Chicagoan, Sirott has garnered multiple accolades throughout his career, including a national Emmy Award, a 2022 Dante Award from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans, and a 2022 Silver Dome Award from the Illinois Broadcasters Association.
