Audacy Sports WSCR (670 The Score) in Chicago ousts long-time radio host Dan Bernstein after a contentious social media incident. Bernstein, who had been with the station since 1995 and was known for his often polarizing on-air style, faced backlash following a heated exchange on the platform X with a user who accused him of killing a fish he had caught and posted about.

Bernstein vehemently denied the accusations, leading to threats of doxxing the user, which included disturbing comments about involving the user's children. The confrontation resulted in Bernstein's suspension and eventual firing.

Mitch Rosen, Vice President and Brand Manager of The Score, announced the decision, expressing gratitude for Bernstein's long tenure but confirming his dismissal over the incident. Additionally, Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services removed Bernstein from their board of directors, citing his comments as misaligned with their mission.

The incident marks the latest in a series of controversies involving Bernstein, whose career at The Score was highlighted by high ratings but marred by several contentious episodes, including insensitive remarks about other media personalities and listeners. Despite these issues, Bernstein's shows remained popular, particularly the "Boers and Bernstein" show, which he co-hosted with Terry Boers for 17 years, achieving high ratings among key demographics.
