KQRC-FM (98.9 The Rock) in Kansas City has unveiled a new weekday lineup, highlighted by a morning show shake-up and the addition of a new afternoon voice. "The Church of Lazlo," a longtime staple of Kansas City radio hosted by Lazlo and Slimfast, will now anchor the morning drive, airing weekdays from 6-10am CT. Ashley O, a rising air personality and Audacy talent, will take over afternoons from 3-7pm CT.

"The legacy of 98.9 The Rock is marked by the brand's commitment to bringing rock music to the Kansas City community and having top-tier talent who connect with loyal listeners and passionate fans," said Roxanne Marati, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Kansas City. "This revamp is an exciting evolution for the brand."

Lazlo, whose radio career spans over two decades, expressed excitement about the move. "We've been on the air for 20 years, and to take over the morning drive with such a legacy is surreal," he said. "Our fans are the reason we're here. Nothing is off-limits, so tune in to join the conversation."

Ashley O, who joins from New Orleans where she previously hosted mornings on WKBU-FM (Bayou 95.7), is also enthusiastic about her new role. "I'm pumped to join the team at The Rock, speaking to the 'Heart of America' for the first time in my radio life!" she said. "I can't wait to bring my charisma and limitless mindset to a city as lively and welcoming as Kansas City. The food is awesome, the people are ridiculously friendly and their sports teams don't suck."
