After nearly nine years as beloved afternoon hosts on WGTS 91.9 in Washington, DC, Johnny and Stacey Stone have announced they will be stepping away from the station to focus on family and new personal endeavors.

"We absolutely love the ministry of WGTS 91.9, and serving the listeners in the Nation's Capital, but it's time for us to start a new ministry season of serving our families," said Johnny Stone. The couple plans to split their time between the Dallas-Fort Worth and Minneapolis-St. Paul areas to support family members.

Stacey Stone added that she will be pursuing her Ph.D. in counseling supervision and education full-time, while continuing her counseling private practice. "This is a big step, and we would appreciate your prayers," she said.

WGTS President and CEO Kevin Krueger praised the Stones' contributions, saying, "Johnny and Stacey have blessed and ministered to hundreds of thousands of people in our area for almost a decade. They've served well, not just on the air, but in helping to build our team. We will miss their daily presence."

The Stones' final day on the air will be Friday, August 8, 2025. WGTS has not yet announced its plans for the afternoon show beyond that date.
