Longtime Sports/Talk duo Steve Mason and John Ireland will remain a fixture on the Southern California airwaves, as ESPN announced a new multi-year agreement that keeps Mason & Ireland on KSPN-AM (ESPN Los Angeles 710 AM) through Super Bowl LXI in 2027.

The show, which airs weekdays from 12-3pm PT, has been a cornerstone of ESPN LA since Mason and Ireland joined the station in 2005. Known for its mix of candid sports commentary, celebrity guests, and deep ties to the local sports scene, Mason & Ireland remains one of the most recognizable voices in L.A. sports media. The program is also streamed live on the ESPN LA app and simulcast on YouTube.

"Mason and Ireland bring energy, humor, and perspective that resonate with listeners across Los Angeles," said David Roberts, ESPN's Executive Vice President, Executive Editor, Sports News and Entertainment. "There's nothing quite like Mason & Ireland in the market or in sports radio."

The new agreement ensures the show's presence through at least the 2027 NFL season, culminating in Super Bowl LXI, which will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC. ESPN LA serves as the flagship radio station for the Lakers, USC, Kings, LAFC, and Angels.

Mason, a passionate Los Angeles sports fan, said he's grateful to continue the journey: "It's an honor to do what I love every day with people I respect and a city I love."

Ireland, who also serves as the radio play-by-play voice of the Los Angeles Lakers, reflected on the show's longevity: "If you had told me 20 years ago that Mason and I would get to talk sports, on ESPN Radio, in Los Angeles, for more than two decades-I would have called you crazy. These kinds of runs rarely happen in radio."
