Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ Knoxville will debut a new live and local morning show on January 5, featuring familiar station personalities Jay Mac and Drake Meredith. The launch follows the final broadcast of the long-running John Boy and Billy Show at the end of December, marking a renewed focus on homegrown programming tailored specifically to East Tennessee listeners.
Jay Mac moves to mornings after 15 years with WIMZ, most recently hosting the station's night show. Known for her storytelling and community engagement, she also fronts the WIMZ Garage Band, which performs at events throughout the region.
"With wonderful memories of The Night Show, and a heart full of gratitude and love, I am absolutely thrilled to say Good Morning, East Tennessee," she said. "Buckle up, Buttercup -- this is going to be one wild and crazy ride."
She'll be joined by co-host Drake Meredith, who began his radio career in Evansville, IN, before moving to Knoxville in 2019. Meredith has since built a strong following through his humorous, self-deprecating style and his persona as Knoxville's self-appointed "shenanigan specialist."
