102.3 KRMG Tulsa has promoted Skyler Cooper to morning news host and Assistant Program Director. Cooper moves from KRMG Afternoon News, where he developed a reputation for strong news judgment, in-depth interviews, and community engagement. His new on-air role has him leading the KRMG Morning News weekdays from 5-9am.
In addition to the schedule change, Cooper has been elevated to Assistant Program Director. He is a past Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Personality of the Year and was recently named a National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award nominee for Medium Market Personality of the Year. Cooper also contributed to KRMG's Marconi Award win for Medium Market Station of the Year.
Dr. Robert H. Zoellner, owner of Zoeller Media Group, said the promotion reflects an investment in the station's future, citing Cooper's understanding of local, community-focused radio. Zoeller Media Group President and General Manager Steve Hunter added that Cooper's ability to connect with listeners and elevate programming made him a natural fit for both roles.
KRMG Program Director Levi May said the decision was straightforward, pointing to Cooper's leadership and vision for local radio.
Cooper called the move a full-circle moment, noting he began his career at KRMG as a Sunday morning board operator. He said he is looking forward to leading the Morning News and "waking up with Tulsa each weekday morning."
