KRXQ-FM (98 Rock) in Sacramento will roll out a revamped weekday lineup beginning Monday, April 20, featuring new roles for Abe Kanan (pictured) and Michael Whitney. Kanan moves into morning drive with the launch of "Abe Kanan Mornings," airing from 6-10am PT. He previously handled afternoons at the station since 2024 and brings more than two decades of radio experience to the new slot.
Whitney joins the station for afternoon drive, hosting "Marty In Your Ear Afternoons" from 3-7pm PT. He brings a background that includes on-air work at San Diego's 91X and production roles with Apple Music's Beats 1, along with a career spanning radio and streaming platforms.
Ashley O will continue in middays from 10am-3pm PT, completing the station's updated weekday schedule.
Brand Manager Andy Hawk said the lineup is designed to strengthen the station's position in the market, citing Kanan's move to mornings and Whitney's addition in afternoons as key components of the strategy.
Whitney said joining 98 Rock marks a full-circle moment, recalling his early days as a Sacramento radio listener and expressing enthusiasm about connecting with Northern California audiences in his new role.
