Christian Contemporary WGTS (91.9) Washington, DC has named veteran broadcaster Kim Bindel as the new co-host of its morning show alongside Jerry Woods. Bindel will succeed Summer Shepherd, who moved to afternoons in April. Claude Jennings, who has been serving as interim co-host, will return to his regular duties at WGTS.

Bindel brings more than three decades of on-air experience to the role. She currently serves as morning show co-host and podcast director at WBCL in Fort Wayne, IN. Her previous radio experience includes on-air positions with Northwestern Media, WayFM, and Salem Radio Network.

"I am truly honored and humbled to join the incredible team at WGTS," Bindel said. "I'm excited for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such talented and passionate people as we continue making a difference together."

WGTS Program Director Brennan Wimbish said Bindel's background and personality make her a strong addition to the station's morning lineup.

"I'm excited to welcome Kim as Jerry's new co-host on the morning show," Wimbish said. "She's a strong fit for this role, and I believe she'll connect quickly with our listeners. I'm looking forward to what she and Jerry will build together."

Bindel is scheduled to begin work at WGTS on July 16. The station said her first on-air appearance with Woods will be announced at a later date.
