Red Apple Audio Networks and WABC-AM/New York have named veteran talk radio personality Walter Sterling host of the syndicated overnight program, "The Other Side of Midnight," airing live Monday through Friday from 1-5am ET. The show is currently carried by 20 affiliates, including flagship WABC in New York, WGN in Chicago, and KMOX in St. Louis.
Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media, Red Apple Audio Networks, and WABC Radio, said Sterling brings the qualities that make overnight radio distinctive.
"Walter embodies everything that makes great overnight radio special," Lopez said. "He is smart, relatable, endlessly curious, and has a rare ability to make every listener feel like they are part of the conversation. Whether he's discussing the unexplained, sharing remarkable stories, or taking calls from across America, Walter creates a sense of companionship that overnight audiences crave."
Sterling said overnight radio provides a unique opportunity for authentic conversations with listeners. "There is something magical about overnight radio," he said. "It's the one part of the day when listeners let down their guard and have real conversations. They share their stories, their questions, their experiences, and together we explore the fascinating, funny, mysterious, and sometimes unbelievable side of life."
He added that being heard on heritage stations such as WABC, WGN, and KMOX is both a professional milestone and a personal honor.
