Veteran Philadelphia air talent Jen Scordo is named the new midday host at 92.5 WXTU-FM in Philadelphia. The appointment was announced Friday morning during The Andie Summers Show, with Scordo assuming the role immediately. A familiar voice to WXTU listeners, Scordo had been serving as the Country outlet's fill-in midday host.
Scordo brings a diverse broadcasting background that includes roles in promotions and engineering at Greater Media, audio technician and stagehand at NBC10, midday host at Cat Country 107.3, producer and air personality at WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic), fill-in anchor for This Morning with Gordon Deal, and on-air positions at WMMR, WMGK and WXTU.
"Jen has earned this opportunity through her talent, professionalism, and ability to build authentic connections with listeners," said Paul Blake, Vice President and Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Philadelphia. "She understands the WXTU brand, embraces the Philadelphia community, and has done an exceptional job on the air."
Program Director Chuck Damico praised Scordo's ability to connect with the audience, calling her "a true talent" with a strong work ethic, great sense of humor and a style that makes listeners feel like they're spending time with a friend.
Scordo said joining WXTU's weekday lineup is the realization of a longtime goal. "Philadelphia has been my home for the past 25 years, and WXTU has always represented everything I love about country radio," she said. "To have the opportunity to spend middays with the incredible listeners of XTU Nation is truly a dream come true. I'm beyond grateful for this opportunity and can't wait for what's ahead."
