Pete Mundo Expands to KFRU Columbia MO

Cumulus Media's KFRU-AM (NewsTalk 98.9 FM & 1400 AM) in Columbia, MO, is adding "Mundo in the Morning" with Pete Mundo to its morning lineup, expanding the KCMO Talk Radio program into another market.

"We're excited to bring Pete Mundo to Columbia on KFRU," the station announced on social media. "Tune in for Missouri news, politics, sports, and more."

Mundo originates the weekday morning show from Cumulus Media's KCMO Talk Radio in Kansas City. The program covers local and national news, politics, culture and sports.

The addition follows Cumulus' expansion of KCMO programming to Topeka, where 102.9 KTOP began simulcasting the Kansas City station's programming in June. KFRU's addition of Mundo gives the program a presence in Kansas City, Columbia and Topeka.

The lineup change comes after staff reductions at KFRU in August that included morning host David Gaines and local host Simon Rose.
