Emily on the Radio (aka Emily Mahurin) is departing Connoisseur Media's CHR WDJX-FM (99.7 DJX) in Louisville after four years in afternoon drive to pursue a career opportunity outside the radio industry. Mahurin announced her departure in an Instagram post, reflecting on her decision to relocate to Louisville in 2022 and her plans to begin a new professional chapter.

"Four years ago I moved out of my comfort zone to a new city to be on a legendary radio station, WDJX, and today I'm doing that again," she wrote. "I'm moving out of my comfort zone once again... and out of the radio industry for a new job!"

She also thanked the colleagues and others who contributed to her experience at the station.

Mahurin joined WDJX in November 2022 after beginning her radio career with Cumulus Media in Indianapolis, where she started as a promotions coordinator in 2017.

During her time with Cumulus, she expanded into on-air programming, hosting weekend shifts at CHR WZPL-FM (99.5) Indianapolis and the former New Country 93.1 WDRQ-FM Detroit. She also handled a voice-tracked midday shift at the former Hot 93.3 KLIF-FM Dallas.

Mahurin has not disclosed details about her new position outside broadcasting. No successor for the WDJX afternoon shift has been announced.
