Veteran West Michigan radio personality Michelle McKormick is returning to morning radio as the new host on iHeartMedia's Classic Hits WBFX-FM (101.3 Big-FM) Grand Rapids and Classic Rock WMRR-FM (Rock 101.7) Muskegon Heights. She will debut Monday, October 19.

The move follows McKormick's departure from Cumulus Media's Classic Rock WLAV-FM (97 LAV) Grand Rapids at the end of August, where she had been a member of the station's morning show since 2011.

McKormick has spent more than four decades in radio, beginning her career in 1984. A Grand Rapids native, she has worked at several stations in the market, including WGRD-FM, WOOD-AM and WJRW-AM. Her career also includes five years at WKRK-FM (FM Talk 97.1) in Detroit and time at WKXW-FM (New Jersey 101.5) in Trenton, NJ.

"I'm so excited to be back on the air in my hometown and to join the iHeartMedia team," McKormick said. "West Michigan listeners have been incredible to me for decades, and I can't wait to wake them up again every morning on Big 101.3 and WMRR. This feels like the right next chapter."

iHeartMedia Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Milwaukee-Madison Regional President Tim Feagan welcomed McKormick to the company's West Michigan stations. "Michelle is one of the most recognizable and beloved voices in West Michigan radio," Feagan said. "Her authenticity, passion for the community, and ability to connect with listeners every morning made her a natural fit for Big 101.3 and WMRR. We're thrilled to welcome her to the team."

The new morning show marks McKormick's return to the West Michigan airwaves less than two months after concluding her longtime run at WLAV.
