WFMT-FM/Chicago Program Director David Polk Resigns

WFMT-FM/Chicago Program Director David Polk has resigned after 13 years with the Classical outlet, reports Chicago media columnist Robert Feder. He's re-locating to New York to pursue unannounced plans. So far, no replacement has been named. Polk had served as the station's PD since January, 2014, as well as being a content producer and on-air host He began his career at WFMT in November, 2006 and has hosted and produced over 250 episodes of the country's only weekly live local classical performance series featuring over 5,000 young musicians during that time.

During his time there, Polk also reported on local and global arts and music events, including the International Chopin Piano Competition (Warsaw, Poland) and the Salzburg Festival (Austria). Additionally, he produced a month-long reporting series on arts education in Chicago and assisted WFMT's Critic-at-Large with research and booking radio show guests.
