WMIT/Charlotte Wins CMB Major Market Station of the Year

During a webinar on Wednesday, Christian Music Broadcasters announced the 2019 Station of the Year, CMB Special Awards and Board of Directors recipients. Additionally, CMB Silver and Gold Members voted on the two open board of directors seats. CMB announced that KCBI/Dallas GM/VP of Operations Matt Austin and WCSG/Grand Rapids Executive Director Chris Lemke have been voted to serve a four year term on the CMB Board of Directors.

The 2019 CMB Station of the Year Winners are:

  • Small Market - WAYP (WAY-FM)/Panama City, FL

  • Medium Market - KLRC (90.9)/Fayetteville, AR

  • Large Market - WAWZ ( Star 99.1)/Middlesex-Somerset-Union, NJ

  • Major Market - WMIT (The Light)/Charlotte, NC

The Industry Achievement Award for outstanding and long-term contributions to the growth of Christian music radio went to WCSG Executive Director Chris Lemke. The Community Service Award for outstanding effort in community service in the past year was awarded to KLJY/St. Louis.

Casting Crowns won The Rich Mullins Artist Impact Award for their long-time contributions to the music and ministry of Christian music radio. The CMB Board of Directors Award for the advancement of the gospel through radio went to Lee Geysbeek and Mike Novak.
