Townsquare Portsmouth Ups Key Staff to Leadership Positions


Townsquare Media Portsmouth has announced two major promotions in its local management team. Sarah Sullivan has been named Operations Manager for Townsquare Media Portsmouth. She will also continue in her successful role as Brand Manager for Adult Hits WSHK, "The Shark."

Sullivan brings over 30 years of experience in multiple formats to the role and started with Townsquare, Portsmouth in 2018.

"I am thrilled to be working with this amazing crew at Townsquare Media, locally here in NNE, and also across the Company," said Sullivan. "Everyone at Townsquare has a passion for what we do and achieving no less than excellence. I will give this position my all out of respect for the legendary WOKQ and for the amazing SHARK FM, two brands that continue to grow every day. Thank you, Bill Wilson, Brian Lang, Kurt Johnson, Christine Sieks and everyone who has had faith in me to lead this group of amazing people."

In addition, Jess Tyler has been named the new Brand Manager for heritage Country WOKQ. Tyler has successfully hosted middays and served as Assistant Brand Manager for the station since 2018. She is well-known and respected in the Country music community. She previously was on-air and MD at WDRQ in Detroit.

"I'm really excited to lead this huge country brand," said Tyler. "I grew up just down the road in Massachusetts, and love being back in New England. Townsquare's commitment to live and local as well as digital is exciting. A big thank you to Kurt Johnson and Brian Lang for their confidence in me!"

SVP Programming Kurt Johnson added, "We love to recognize and elevate great local performers and these are two of the best. Sarah and Jess have delivered outstanding results in their positions and are more than qualified and deserving of these promotions."
