iHeartMedia's WIOD-AM (Newsradio 610)/Miami announced Friday its Share-A-Thon, a 72-hour fundraiser to benefit the Miami Rescue Mission/Broward County Outreach, a local organization serving the homeless and the community in need in South Florida. Beginning Friday, April 10 at 5am through Easter Sunday, April 12 at 7pm, WIOD's air personalities will encourage listeners to donate by calling or by visiting wiod.com and caringplace.org/easter. Listeners will also hear special programming and inspirational vignettes during South Florida's First News with Jimmy Cefalo and during the "Brian Mudd Show."

"During this COVID-19 pandemic crisis the homeless and hungry are in need more than ever," said Miami Rescue Mission/Broward County Outreach VP/Development Marilyn Brummit. "On Good Friday we are hosting our second annual Easter Hunger to Hope dinner. The goal is to raise 10,000 meals through our community, which will be matched by one of the Mission's special Giving Partners."

"In these difficult times when we are asked to stay home it's fitting for us to help those who don't have a home," added WIOD PD Grace Blazer. "We know money can be a concern for many right now, but we ask our community to make donations starting at one meal which is $2.10."
