Radio One Promotes Ernest Fears, III to DOS for Washington DC

Radio One has named Ernest Fears, III the new Director of Sales for Washington, D.C. In this new position, Fears will provide leadership for Radio One D.C. and will oversee the market's sales efforts.

Fears will be transitioning from his position as General Sales Manager to the Director of Sales for Radio One's Washington, D.C. five-station cluster. As General Sales Manager, Fears was responsible for Agency, Auto, and Government Initiatives and served as the cluster's GSM. As Director of Sales, Fears will focus on the management and growth of the sales force and will oversee key clients. His focus will be on maximizing the monetization of the market's assets.

Throughout his career, Fears has driven over 800 million dollars in billing for major media companies like ABC, CBS, and most recently, Radio One. Over the last five years, he has matriculated through the ranks of Radio One, holding the positions of Account Executive, Local Sales Manager, and most recently General Sales Manager. In the past five years, Fears has led the local team to revenue levels that have not been duplicated in over a decade. He has proven success in strategic thinking, team building, creative solutions, marketing partnerships, and revenue generation. Fears is also one of the founders of the Media Sales Institute, sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters
