Talker Rob Redding Sells Painting for $10K

National talk host Rob Redding's provocative painting "Black Power: Unapologetically Militant" was reported as sold online by Artsy, for $10,000. The work is included in the "Alternating Currents" group show being held at the prestigious Fridman Gallery. It also appeared in Art in America Magazine's "New Talent" May issue edited by curator and writer Antwaun Sargent.

"I submitted ‘Black Power: Unapologetically Militant' because I am tired of simply arguing that Black Lives Matter," Redding said.

The gallery added: "Rob Redding's radiant smear paintings are a formal engagement with material, and an unapologetic declaration of freedom and power." The Brooklyn-based queer artist is the host of "Redding News Review Unrestricted", a daily independent political talk program with listeners in more than 20 states. He has also written 11-consectuive bestselling books on Amazon.com - the latest "Dark Soul" was No. 1 last year and the No. 1 book "The Professor: Witnessing White Power." The Professor is currently being adapted into a stage play.

Redding said this is the most money his work has ever sold for and will help him in his final year in Pratt's MFA Painting and Drawing program.
