Norfolk's 94.9 The Point Raises Over $200K for Pediatric Care

Audacy's WPTE-FM 94.9 The Point raised $220,000 for pediatric care in Norfolk, VA through the station's 20th annual Radiothon to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD).

"Year after year, the generosity of our local communities is so inspiring," said Bennett Zier, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Audacy Norfolk. "It's truly our honor to be a part of this annual event that benefits so many families and children in Hampton Roads. We thank each and every person, family and business who donated over the last few days to improve the lives of children in our communities."

94.9 The Point morning show hosts Mike Powers and Woo Woo broadcasted live from the station studios from November 10-12 in effort to raise critical dollars for the region's only children's hospital. Radio listeners learned what makes a children's hospital unique and heard stories of strength and resilience from CHKD patients and their families.

Since its inception 20 years ago, 94.9 The Point Radiothon has raised more than $5 million to purchase equipment, fund research, support patient care programs, and expand the mental health program at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters.
