SiriusXM Senior Dir./Programming J.R. Schumann to Exit

SiriusXM Senior Director of Programming J.R. Schumann has announced his departure, effective July 15. Following his exit, SiriusXM VP/Programming Darrin Smith will oversee the Country channels on an interim basis. Schumann joined the satcaster in 2016 after serving as OM/PD at Cumulus Country KPLX (99.5 The Wolf) and KSCS/Dallas. He joined the Cumulus duo in 2014 after previously working at Cox Media Group Country WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando and SummitMedia Country WZZK/Birmingham.
In a statement, Schumann said, "After almost seven years, I've decided to leave SiriusXM and pursue other opportunities and adventures. I'm beyond proud of everything my team and I have accomplished and wish everyone at SiriusXM nothing but continued success."
