Podtrac Releases Weekly Podcast Data Through July 3

Podtrac has released its weekly tracking data of podcasts for the week of June 27 to July 3 showing downloads were down 1% over the previous week and up 71% over the corresponding period last year for Podtrac measured shows. The Science category showed the strongest week-over-week growth at rising 4%. The True Crime category showed the weakest week-over-week growth at falling 12%. The category with strongest growth year-over-year was Health & Fitness climbing 159%.

Download growth for the 52-week period from June 28, 2021 to July 3, 2022 was up 71% across all Podtrac measured podcasts. Week-over-week download growth for the week of June 27 to July 3, 2022 was down 1% across all Podtrac measured podcasts.

Download growth for the 52-week period from June 28, 2021 to July 3, 2022 was +6% for Arts, +74% for Business, +117% for Comedy, +159% for Health & Fitness, +45% for History, +71% for News, +73% for Science, +59% for Society & Culture, +77% for Sports, and +67% for True Crime.

Week-over-week download growth for the week of June 27 to July 3, 2022 was -5% for Arts, 0% for Business, -1% for Comedy, 0% for Health & Fitness, +1% for History, +1% for News, +4% for Science, -3% for Society & Culture, -6% for Sports, and -12% for True Crime.
