Sportswriter John McClain is named Senior Texans Columnist for KILT-AM (Sports Radio 610) in Houston. In this role, McClain will provide weekly postgame observations, team report cards and Texans-driven columns throughout the season. He'll also continue to appear regularly on Sports Radio 610's weekly daytime programs "Payne and Pendergast," "In the Loop with John Lopez and Landry Locker" and "Clint Stoerner and The Show."

McClain will also co-host the Houtopia Football Podcast alongside Sports Radio 610 morning show host Sean Pendergast. With new episodes twice a week, the show will focus on all things Houston Texans football, including game breakdowns, player conversations, McClain's stories from past and present experiences covering the team and more.

"To officially bring a Houston legend in John McClain onto our team is incredible," said Sports Radio 610 Brand Manager Parker Hillis. "John has always been one of our biggest proponents in the market and I'm thrilled that Texans fans will now be able to read his observations and opinions at SportsRadio610.com, on top of his weekly radio appearances."

"I've been doing sports talk on 610 for 23 years, and I'm fired up about the opportunity to write for the station's website," added McClain. "I'm especially excited to work with Brandon Scott, one of my favorite reporters in Houston. I think Brandon does a terrific job covering Houston sports, and it's an honor to cover the Texans with him."

McClain, a Waco, TX native, is best known for his 47 years spent covering the NFL, including the Oilers and Texans, for the Houston Chronicle (from which he retired earlier this year). He has also served as an on-air contributor for the Sports Radio 610 since 1999. In 2006, McClain received the Dick McCann Memorial Award, placing him into the writer's wing of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors Committee and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
