AC WGER-FM (The Mix)/Saginaw, MI flips to Alternative as "106.3 The Core," featuring Rock and Alternative from the 90's and early 2000's. The new format will air music from Metallica, Alice In Chains, Green Day, Sublime, Third Eye Blind, Blink-182, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam & Soundgarden and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others.

The new Alternative outlet will add syndicated "Dave & Chuck the Freak" on October 10 to mornings. Also joining the air staff its market veteran MacKenzie "MacK" Furlo.

Content Director Clay Pierce (aka Clay Bird) said, "Our listeners and advertisers now have a rock 'alternative' run by people in the mitten for people in the mitten," said Pierce.
