In a significant development, United Stations has shared with its affiliates that the long-running program "Nights with Alice Cooper" will be concluding its syndication journey next month, marking the end of an era that has spanned nineteen and a half years.
The trailblazing show, hosted by the legendary Alice Cooper, first graced the airwaves in January, 2004 on KDKB/Phoenix. Following its debut, the show transitioned to sister Classic Rock KSLX after KDKB underwent a format shift to Alternative in 2014. As the program's legacy grew, it became a fixture in the rock radio landscape.
As a curtain call to this remarkable run, the final weekday episode is scheduled for Friday, September 8. Over the years, "Nights with Alice Cooper" has been a staple in various markets, with stations such as KGGO/Des Moines, WMMQ/Lansing, KOZZ/Reno, WEZX/Scranton and KLPX/Tucson carrying the show. Its influence extended beyond U.S. borders, captivating audiences in Australia and the United Kingdom as well.
Alice Cooper, an icon in the realm of rock and roll, is celebrated for chart-topping hits like the 1972 anthem "School's Out" and the 1989 "comeback" sensation "Poison." Beyond his music career, he has been a beloved presence in the radio world, guiding listeners through nights of rock and stories for nearly two decades.
