WBNS/Columbus Appoints Matt Fishman as OM/PD

Matt Fishman

Sports WBNS-FM (97.1 The Fan) and WBNS (ESPN 1460)/Columbus appoints Matt Fishman as its new Program Director and Operations Manager. WBNS is the longtime radio flagship home of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew and Columbus' home of the Cleveland Browns. Fishman joins the stations from Good Karma Brands where he was Director of Content for WKNR (ESPN)/Cleveland since January, 2020. He also previously spent a decade at SiriusXM and has also programmed KCSP/Kansas City.

"97.1 The Fan and WBNS FM/AM is a special brand that is very important to our community, our stakeholders, and our client partners. Matt's love of sports radio and his track record of building strong teams, made him the right choice to lead our very talented group of broadcasters, content creators, and flagship partners," said Station Manager Cody Welling.

Fishman added, "97.1 The Fan is a juggernaut of a radio station. I'm privileged to get to work with an incredible team, a great lineup, and broadcast partners like Ohio State Sports Properties-Learfield, the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Columbus Crew, ESPN and Westwood One."

Fishman succeeds Matt Erhardt, who exited the stations last month.
