Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS)'s board of directors taps CEO Raul Alarcon Jr. to add responsibilities as President. Alarcon Jr., who co-founded SBS with his father, Pablo Raul Alarcon Sr., in 1983, previously held the President position starting in 1985. 24-year SBS veteran Albert Rodriguez, the company's former President and Chief Operating Officer, stepped down about two months ago. Alarcon will retain his roles as Chairman and CEO in addition to the title of President. He will continue overseeing the company's long-term strategic planning and operational matters.
In a statement, SBS saild Alarcon's foundational role in establishing SBS nearly forty years ago, along with his understanding of the company, its sales framework and on-air talent within the competitive landscape of radio broadcasting, makes him the natural selection by the board to maintain stability and drive future success.
Additionally, the company is actively pursuing strategic initiatives to bolster its structure and ensure ongoing value to its listeners, advertisers, and shareholders.
Alarcon remains the company's largest and sole controlling shareholder.
