Hubbard Returns ''98.9 The Bull'' to KPNW in Seattle

Hubbard Radio AAA KPNW-FM in Seattle is returning Country music to the airwaves and flips back to "98.9 The Bull." Fitz, currently host of the syndicated "Country Top 40 with Fitz," will host morning drive and lead the charge in returning the radio station back to its Country music roots. Fitz previously hosted mornings in Seattle on "100.7 The Wolf" from 2005-2017 and "98.9 The Bull" from 2019-2021.

Fitz commented, "The PNW is so very special to me. It is home to the greatest country fans in the world. I have grown with them over the years and they are like family. I'm so excited that country is back on 98.9. Saddle up."

"No, it's not an April fool's joke, 98.9 The Bull is back," commented Hubbard Seattle Operations Manager Scott Mahalick. "With Fitz at the helm, we are excited to bring back the music that Seattle loves. We believe that this change will not only resonate with our loyal listeners but also reignite the passion and energy that country music brings to the Pacific Northwest."

The KPNW call letters will remain and the station will be positioned as "98.9 The Bull," "Country for the PNW." The new Country outlet will compete with Audacy's KKWF "100.7 The Wolf" and KPLZ-FM (Star 101.5) which flipped today to "Real Country... Real Variety" as Classic Country "HANK FM."

"We understand the disappointment that our listeners felt when we made the switch from 98.9 The Bull to adult alternative," commented Hubbard Seattle VP/Market Manager Trip Reeb. "We want to make things right so we are bringing in Fitz, a long-time advocate for country music. He understands the deep connection our audience has with country radio."
