Cayuga Media Group Hires Maddie Cavataio as EiC

The Cayuga Media Group in Ithaca, NY hires Maddie Cavataio as the Editor in Chief for a soon to be launched online news product for Tompkins and Cortland County. She is a 2023 graduate of Ithaca College with a degree in Politics. Cavataio will lead the launch of CortacaToday.com which will feature news, information, entertainment, and content from within both the Tompkins and Cortland Counties.

"Maddie will be an incredible asset to our organization," said Cayuga Media Group President Chet Osadchey. "She brings a unique skill set of excellent writing and leadership combined with a strong depth of knowledge of our local area. She is the perfect person to launch Cortaca Today."

He added, "I am incredibly excited to launch such a useful resource for the people of both counties. This site will fill the gaps that we have been missing and will have something for everyone. From the perspective of both a local and a member of Cayuga Media Group, I look forward to having something created that honors our local communities."

CortacaToday.com will launch June 24th, 2024. The site will feature local news, weather, sports, obituaries, health and wellness, and many other components to connect the community. Cortaca Today is one of the eighteen online news sites that Cayuga Media Group parent company Saga Broadcasting will launch this year.
