This Sunday marks not only the crowning of the NASCAR Premier Series Champion at Phoenix Raceway but also the end of an era for Motor Racing Network (MRN) as lead anchor Jeff Striegle calls his final race, concluding a 27-year career. Since joining MRN, Striegle has been a firsthand witness to some of the most thrilling moments in NASCAR history.

Striegle's tenure included recent innovations such as the Busch Clash at the L.A. Coliseum and the Chicago Street Course races. He also had the privilege of calling the closest finish in NASCAR history this past spring at Kansas Speedway.

Despite these historic events, Striegle reflects that his lasting memories will be of the people he's met. "There are so many amazing memories," said Striegle. "For me, what I will miss most are the people. Everywhere we go, we meet wonderful people, great race fans that tell us, 'We have been listening to MRN for years...' they always want to thank us for what we do. Without the fans, there would be no need for the Motor Racing Network."

Striegle's journey with MRN began long before he stepped into the broadcast booth in 2013. His early days at the local Berlin Raceway in Marne, MI, saw him working the public address booth, setting the stage for what would become a remarkable broadcasting career.

According to MRN President Chris Schwartz, "His broadcast career began like so many others by working the public address booth providing the soundtrack for thousands of fans at his local racetrack. He has been involved with calling some of the sport's most iconic moments, and it is fitting that the checkered flag will fall on his broadcast career by calling the final laps of another NASCAR Cup Series Championship."

As the motorsports community prepares to bid farewell to Striegle, Motor Racing Network is gearing up to provide comprehensive, flag-to-flag coverage of the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race. Coverage begins at 2pm ET this Sunday and will be available on approximately 300 radio station partners, the NASCAR mobile app, and MRN.com.
