Dave Russell, a longtime figure in radio, has departed from his roles as Program Director and afternoon host at Cumulus AC WARM-FM in York, Pennsylvania. His exit comes after a nine-year tenure, prompted by recent budget reductions at the station.

Russell's radio career spans several decades and includes multiple stints at the same York broadcasting facility. He initially joined 910 WSBA in 1988, where over an eleven-year period, he advanced to the roles of Assistant Program Director and Promotions Director. His career also included positions at WEZQ in Bangor, Maine, and both WCTO and WLEV in Allentown, PA.

In 2007, Russell returned to York to take on the Program Director position at WARM-FM and also served as an afternoon host and, at times, morning co-host. Following budget cuts in 2009, he worked as a fill-in host for various Cumulus stations across Pennsylvania. Before rejoining WARM-FM in 2015, Russell was with Forever Media, programming for Oldies stations WPKL and WKPL near Pittsburgh.

Reflecting on his departure via a Facebook post, Russell expressed his appreciation for the community and colleagues, stating, "Life throws you curve balls. Today I was let go from my position at WARM 103.3. It has truly been a wonderful 9 years working with great people like Melanie Gardner and Liz Bell. I'm gonna take a week to regroup and figure out what is next. Thanks to everyone in the York and Lancaster community that has shown me kindness over the past 9 years."
