After 18 years at the helm of "American Country Countdown," Kix Brooks will step down as host of the Country music show. Brooks' final show will air the weekend of December 28-29. Beginning the weekend of January 4-5, 2025, Country radio personality Ryan Fox (pictured) will take over as host, launching a new era for the program. Fox, a veteran broadcaster with more than two decades of experience in Country radio, is currently morning host at KPLX (99.5 The Wolf) in Dallas.

Known for his engaging storytelling, humor, and passion for Country music, Fox will bring a fresh voice to "American Country Countdown." The show, which airs on over 300 affiliates nationwide, will continue to feature top Country hits, exclusive artist interviews and behind-the-scenes stories from the genre's biggest names.

Fox stated, "To take the reins on one of the longest-running and most successful country countdown shows in the world, following legends like Kix Brooks and Bob Kingsley, is a tremendous honor. This is a terrific era for country music, and I cannot wait to count down the biggest hits from coast to coast."

Cumulus Media Chief Content Officer Brian Philips praised Fox, describing him as "down-to-earth and faithful to the music" with a knack for humor and relatability. "Weekend countdowns remain a favorite choice of listeners," Philips noted. "Ryan's fast-paced, fresh take on this beloved show is sure to resonate with fans."

The revamped American Country Countdown with Ryan Fox will spotlight the biggest stars of contemporary Country music, including artists like Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown and Lainey Wilson.
