Cox Media Group Atlanta's stations joined forces with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to combat food insecurity ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Together, they collected 8,782 pounds of food, enough to generate 12,272 meals for food-insecure individuals across Georgia. WALR (Kiss 104.1), WSBB-FM & WSB-AM (95.5 WSB), WSB-FM (B98.5) and WSRV (97.1 The River) participated in the drive, showcasing the power of community engagement through local radio.

"We have the best listeners in Atlanta. Each year they support these terrific events and help us do good for the communities we serve," said Cox Media Group Senior Vice President of Audience & Programming Chris Eagan. "This is what live and local radio is truly all about."

Atlanta Community Food Bank President and CEO Kyle Waide emphasized the significance of the partnership. "Our partnership with Cox Media Group helps us amplify the prominent issue of food insecurity among our neighbors. These events underscore the generosity and willingness of the community to help those in need."

Food insecurity affects 13% of Georgians and 18% of children in the state, with significantly higher rates among communities of color. Donations remain vital, as the Food Bank can turn every dollar into up to three meals.

Publix, a major partner, helped ensure thousands of families receive meals this season. Early donors were also rewarded with tickets to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, thanks to Live Nation Entertainment.
