AWMF Seeks Support for Women in Media During Giving Tuesday
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, December 2, 2024 |
As the holiday season approaches, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) is calling on its community to support its mission of advancing women in media through scholarships and educational programs. This appeal comes as part of Giving Tuesday, a global movement encouraging charitable giving, observed Tuesday, December 3. The AWM Foundation has outlined several ways for individuals and organizations to get involved:
- Make a Donation: Contributions can be made online at allwomeninmedia.org. Donations are tax-deductible and directly fund scholarships and educational initiatives. The first 20 donors contributing $100 or more will receive an exclusive Gracie Awards tote as a thank-you gift.
- Spread Awareness: Supporters are encouraged to use social media to share personal stories and highlight the importance of supporting women in media. Suggested hashtags include #AWMFGivingTuesday and #GivingTuesday.
- Partner with AWMF: Organizations can deepen their involvement by exploring sponsorship opportunities to further the foundation's impact. Details are available on the AWM Foundation website.
- Engage with Events: AWMF invites participation in its upcoming programs, such as the AWM Media Masterclass and the Gracie Interview Series, designed to educate and inspire.
As the AWM Foundation prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Gracie Awards in 2025, it is introducing new fundraising levels, from "Gracie Ambassador" to "AWM Foundation Fans," to enhance its ability to support women in media.
The foundation also highlighted recent successes in its scholarship programs. Eight AWM Foundation Student Fellows recently attended the Gracies Leadership Awards in New York, underscoring AWMF's commitment to empowering the next generation of media professionals.
