In a display of community support and generosity, listeners of WGTS 91.9 have significantly contributed to the welfare of the homeless in Washington, DC, through a donation campaign entitled "Loads of Hope." Throughout 2024, the station's audience participated in several Sticker Stops and events, donating a total of 1,347 bottles of laundry detergent to aid local families in need.

This initiative, part of the station's Hands and Heart campaign, translated into over 76,000 loads of laundry, providing essential support to those without easy access to such basic necessities. The Rockville Women's Center was among the primary beneficiaries of this drive. WGTS promotions assistant Thomas Ozio shared heartfelt stories from the campaign. "We handed out laundry detergent directly to young mothers, who were visibly moved by the gesture, expressing joy and gratitude as they selected their preferred brands from the donations," Ozio said.

Other organizations that received support from this initiative include the Dulles South Food Bank, The Community Hope Center at Seneca Creek Community Church, Cornerstone Chapel and The Lamb Center.

WGTS 91.9 President and CEO Kevin Krueger emphasized the campaign's alignment with the station's core values. "Being the hands and heart of Jesus through giving opportunities like this is fundamental to our mission. Providing essential items such as laundry detergent is a concrete way we can serve and uplift those in our community," Krueger stated.
