Philadelphia's 93.3 WMMR-FM has announced remarkable results from its 27th Annual Preston & Steve Camp Out For Hunger event, which raised nearly 1.7 million pounds of food and over $995,710 in cash donations. These contributions directly support Philabundance, the largest hunger relief organization in the Delaware Valley, which helps to feed those in need across the region.

The event took place from December 2-6 outside of Xfinity Live! in the Wells Fargo Center Complex, South Philadelphia. Morning show hosts Preston and Steve broadcast live throughout the week, camping out to encourage food and monetary donations from the tri-state area.

The campout attracted numerous celebrities, athletes and performers, boosting the event's profile and helping to draw in significant contributions. Among the highlights were performances by Return To Dust, The Hooters, Adam Weiner of Low Cut Connie, and Don McCloskey, which provided entertainment for the attendees.

Listeners had the opportunity to watch the broadcast live inside the tent, where volunteers and donors enjoyed complimentary Dunkin' coffee and meals provided by event sponsors throughout the day. Donations were accepted both online and in-store at local ACME Markets.

The event's standout donor was Subaru of America, which contributed an impressive 720,000 pounds of food. This substantial donation secured the company a special live broadcast from its headquarters in Camden, NJ.

WMMR Program Director Chuck Damico highlighted the power of broadcasting to rally community support, stating, "Broadcasting is very powerful. There is no greater example in the world of using those powers for good than Preston & Steve's Camp Out For Hunger. Everyone at WMMR is so very thankful for every single person that donated, no matter how large or small, and to all who helped make it happen."
